Juan Jesús Trejo Téllez, 37, was one of the possible migrants who was traveling in the truck that was abandoned in San Antonio and where 53 immigrants died.. His family, who live in the State of Mexico, shared an audio to Televisa news in which it is confirmed that they had been left alone, it was very hot, they had no water and more than 50 people were traveling together.
“We are already here on this side in Texas. We’ve been three nights and three days, and the kids are very desperate, you need to talk to Toño so you can tell him what’s up; here there are about 50 people and all of them piled up, a rest of heat, tons for you to put pressure on him and jump on him because he is a bastard here”, are the first words that are heard from Juan Jesús Trejo.
Juan Jesús Trejo Téllez left his native El Oro in the State of Mexico, accompanied by two minors, on June 21 to travel to Guanajuato where would meet with a person who promised to cross them to the US in exchange for $8 thousand dollars, shared the migrant’s sister, Lorena Guadalupe Téllez.
His relative stated that his brother he was a blacksmith, but that the economic situation was very difficult, so he sold several belongings to be able to cross into the United States in search of a better quality of life.
“This number is from the phone that they left here where they have us, they left it to a girl because we can’t answer, so yes, check it out Juanito, press it or let’s see what the hell because if we are from mothers and the morros I tell you that they are already well pressed and with the heat we are here sweat and sweat, To put pressure on him, Juanito, I’m telling you that we’re already here in Texas, we’re already on this side, but we’ve been here for three days and three nights, check him out,” Juan Jesús’ voice is heard whispering.
In an interview for the Mexican news program on Televisa, the migrant’s wife, Evelin Martínez, expressed her great desire that her husband was not in the trailerbut the Mexican Consulate in San Antonio contacted the family to go to Foreign Affairs in Mexico City to verify kinship and find out if Juan Jesús is among the 53 deceased.
Both the wife and the sister of Trejo Téllez are waiting for the tragic news and they will look for a way to recover the body of their relative and the minors with whom they were traveling, if they are among the deceased or if they are among the people who are in critical condition in hospitals.
