After carefully inspecting the current situation of Japanese soccer, the Japanese Football Association decides to hire the rude and egoistic coach Jinpachi Ego in order to win the World Cup. Believing that the Japanese team lacks an aggressive striker, Jinpachi starts the Blue Lock. It is a prison-like facility where three hundred talented strikers from all over Japan are isolated and pitted against each other. The one who survives in the end, achieves the right to become the national team’s striker and those who are defeated will be banned from joining the team forever.
The protagonist, Yoichi Isagi, a striker who couldn’t achieve his dream of taking his high school team to the national tournament, is finally selected to join the national sports team. Using this golden opportunity, Yoichi strives to fulfil his lifelong desire of becoming the greatest striker in the world and be the reason for Japan to win the World Cup.

The anime series, Blue Lock, also known as Burū Rokku in Japanese, is based on a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It was first published in the year 2018. The series has 16 volumes so far.
Upcoming Blue Lock anime is about football. The series is scheduled to release sometime in 2022. A short trailer has also been released by the makers where the protagonist, Yoichi Isagi is featured with his other high school players showing off his soccer skills. Blue Lock manga series fans will have to wait until 2022 to watch this incredible series.
Studio Eight Bit has already begun developing the animation, according to a tweet by Official Japanese anime. Tetsuaki Watanabe is officially announced to direct this anime series with Shunsuke Ishikawa as his co-director. The series composition will be done by Taku Kishimoto with Masaru Shindo as his main character designer.
However, the studio Eight Bit is yet to announce the release date. So we can’t really comment on Blue Lock season 1 as of now.
