The Los Angeles Dodgers, with a constellation of stars in their lineup but only scored 11 runs in their first series of the new season in Colorado, they finally warmed up offensively on a cold and rainy Tuesday night in Minneapolis, scoring six times in the eighth inning to beat the Minnesota Twins 7-2.

LA was coming off losing the last two games of the weekend against the Rockies, including one in which their best reliever faltered, and another in which the Mexican Julio Urías had a bad opening.

In the opening of that inning, with the score 1-1, Mookie Betts was walked by pitcher Caleb Thielbar, Freddie Freeman was also walked by Emilio Pagán and Trea Turner followed with a grounder hit to left that produced the tiebreaking run..

Max Muncy walked and after the entry of Colombian reliever Jhon Romero, Justin Turner hit line drive to drive in Freeman with the 3-1. Dodgers catcher Will Smith opened the lead with a two-run double (5-1).

After striking out Cody Bellinger, Chris Taylor reached on an error by third baseman Luis Arráez, scoring Turner, and Gavin Lux -who had driven in the first LA run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth- made it 7-1 with an RBI single. to Smith. Even the Dodgers loaded the bases again with another hit by Freeman, but there were no more runs.

Andrew Heaney made his Dodgers debut after six and a half seasons with the Angels. before ending up with the Yankees last year. The left-hander pitched well over 4 1/3 innings, with 3 hits, 1 run that was unearned due to an error by shortstop Trea Turner in the fifth inning, and 5 strikeouts. The bullpen did a splendid job dispensing only 2 hits in the rest of the game, with Daniel Hudson being the pitcher who got the win. Pagan lost.

The Dodgers will play again in Minnesota on Wednesday with Clayton Kershaw on the mound before returning to Los Angeles, where on Thursday they will have their opening match as locals when receiving Cincinnati.
