Republican Representative from North Carolina was discovered by the authorities of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, for carrying a gun in his suitcasebut this incident had already happened on a previous occasion.
Transportation security confirmed that the politician tried to carry a 9mm gun inside his luggage, This information was confirmed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, through social networks they sent a message related to this problem.
“Mr. Cawthorn received a citation for possession of a dangerous weapon on city property, which is an ordinance of the city of Charlotte. Mr. Cawthorn was released and CMPD took possession of the firearm, which is normal procedure.”
A spokesperson for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) also recounted the events: “Firearms incident administration results in a possible fine of up to $13,900.loaded firearms and multiple felonies are examples of aggravating circumstances,” he told Newsweek.
This would be the second time Madison Cawthorn has tried to pass a gun through the security zone the first time was at the Asheville Regional Airport in February 2021, when he was carrying a Glock 9mm in his luggage. On that occasion he had no violation, but under the rules he could have been fined $10,000.
