An armed man fled after shooting three people near the 101 Freewaythis Monday in Ventura.
According to reports, officers responded to the 2700 block of Sherwin Avenue at approximately 4:40 pm Monday to take a call from a shooting victim.
Ventura police reported that an argument that had started inside a business, ended up outside when the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot three people, wounding them.
the attacker escaped in an unidentified vehicle.
The shooting happened in front of a glass store, where an unauthorized tattoo parlor allegedly operated.
The victims were a man and two women, who were rushed to two hospitals, two of them with life-threatening injuriesaccording to detectives.
A man and a woman were shot in the chest. and were admitted to the Ventura County Medical Center.
The second woman was injured in an arm, non-life-threatening injury, and was sent to Los Robles Hospital.
“They must be stopped. They are a threat to the community, they are a threat to everyone who comes across them,” said Cmdr. Rich Murray.
The detectives were reviewing the recordings of surveillance cameras to try to identify the attacker and the type of car in which he fled.
A description of the attacker had not yet been provided.
Authorities did not release further details about this shooting. whose investigation is ongoing.
