Luis Fernando “El Flaco” Tena is an old acquaintance of Mexican soccer and is fondly remembered by his countrymen due to the olympic gold who won with the Aztec team in London 2012; but a few months ago the DT changed his mind and he launched himself to try his luck in Central America, where he currently works as coach of the Guatemalan National Team earning a not inconsiderable salary.
In this sense, rumors circulated recently that the helmsman’s salary was $35,000 dollars a month, since when Fedefut hired him, Gerardo Paiz, the organization’s president, speculated about his income; However, that has been left behind, since in the official website of the Federation’s Public Information it is clear that he does not win that.
According to official documents, the former coach of Liga MX teams such as Cruz Azul, América and Chivas, earns a salary of $39,200 tax freewhich he has received for three months, since he was hired on December 9 last.
Added to La Bicolor’s payroll are the salaries of Mexicans Salvador Luis Reyes, a great friend and now Tena’s assistant, who receives $9,500 dollars, as well as that of the physical trainer, Jerónimo Aimar, which is $3,800 dollars; which gives a grand total of $52,500 dollars to cover the salaries of the team’s coaching staff.
The debut of the Mexican DT with the Bicolor will be next March 24 in a friendly match against the Cuban national teamsince although “El Flaco” has worked with the team for about 90 days, due to the pandemic and the lack of a rival, he has not yet officially made his debut on the bench.
