football legend Ronaldinho Gaucho assured that it is Totally incredulous at the unfortunate violent events that took place in the La Corregidora stadium during the match between Querétaro and Atlas.
The statement was made during a press conference held this Tuesday in Mexico, as part of his visit to the Aztec country before his upcoming investiture to the Mexican Soccer Hall of Fame.
“It’s sad. I have seen everything that happened there in Querétaro. It’s hard to believe what I experienced there, I would never imagine that something like this would happen. I send a big hug to the people of Querétaro, to all the friends I have made and I hope that soon they will be able to have a normal life again, a normal football”, he commented.
In the meeting with the media, Ronaldinho also called on fans to enjoy sport in order to eradicate violent acts registered in the stadiums.
“Hopefully something like this doesn’t happen again, I just want to send a hug and I repeat it, that never happen again”, he added. Ronaldinho is part of the tenth promotion of soccer players who are exalted to the Hall of Fame.
The Brazilian also recalled how he decided to play in Mexico and join the ranks of the Gallos Blancos de Querétaro. “My brother had already played here in Mexicothen I knew Mexican soccer very well and later, when I met Arturo Villanueva, then President of the club, my brother met him before and that is why I ended up living in Querétaro”, he sentenced.
