A Michigan man still finds it hard to believe he’s won a $242,256 jackpot on a Fantasy 5 lottery ticket.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the Fantasy 5 lottery numbers in the April 30 drawing to win the grand prize: 14-16-25-29-39.
The winning ticket was purchased at the BP Gas Station, located at 1365 West Maple Road in Clawson.
“When I was shopping at the gas station, I saw that the Fantasy 5 jackpot was over $200,000, so I decided to buy some tickets,” the player said. “I forgot I had bought the tickets until I saw them in my wallet a few days later.”
“When I checked the winning numbers on the Lottery app, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I decided to use my computer and check the numbers on the Lottery website to make sure there were no glitches in the app. When I confirmed the numbers a second time and saw that the winning ticket had been purchased at Clawson, I finally accepted that I had won. Winning is a great feeling!”
The 65-year-old recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the grand prize. With his earnings, he plans to set aside college funds for his grandchildren and then save the rest for retirement.
