According to Columbus police, the shooting occurred around 5:20 p.m. outside the community center, which is located at 1888 Fairmont Ave., south of West Broad Street, and is one of a number of designated cool-down centers for residents of the city of Columbus seeking relief from Wednesday temperatures that reached the mid-90s.
The shots created panic among those who had arrived at Glenwood Park. First Assistant Police Chief LaShanna Potts said two women and a man were shot and one of them died. Although the identity of those shot is not known, it is estimated that they were young adults.

Albert said all three victims were transported to hospitals: two to the OhioHealth Grant Medical Center and one to OSU Wexner Medical Center.
A young woman was pronounced dead at 5:54 pm after being transported. One of the other two victims is in stable condition and one is in serious condition, she said.
Detectives believe there may have been multiple shooters, but no suspects have been identified at this time, according to Potts.
