The United States announced this Friday Mark de Rosa as the manager of the US team for the 2023 World Baseball Classic with which it hopes to revalidate its 2017 title.

DeRosa spent 16 years in the Majors as a player in which he wore the uniform of the Braves of Atlanta, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Guardians, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Washington Nationals and Toronto Blue Jays.
DeRosa finished his career with 100 homers, 975 hits, 494 RBIs, and a .268 career average.. The 47-year-old American retired in 2013 with Toronto.
As a player, he was characterized as a utility man who could play multiple positions in a great way in the infield. and he was a timely hitter. Now as manager he will have a great team to seek the two-time championship with the United States.
For the tournament, which will be played in March of next year, the United States is part of Group C, along with teams from Mexico, Colombia and Canada.
