Fernando Colunga will finally appear on the screens of Telemundo being the protagonist of the new epic super series “The Count: Love and Honor“. The actor from soap operas such as “María la del Barrio” and “La Usurpadora” will now be accompanied by the actress Ana Brenda Contreras in the leading role.
What is ‘The Count: Love and Honor’ about?
“El Conde: Amor y Honor” is a period plot that begins in the 30’s with an intense love story between Alejandro Gaitán (Colunga), a humble and peasant young man, and Mariana (Contreras) a beautiful and restless young girl. . But Josefina de Zambrano (Andere), Mariana’s stepmother, and Gerardo Villarreal (Sendel), will set out to turn this love story into a real hell. Alejandro will be blamed for a double homicide and without anyone knowing his fate, he will be transferred to a dungeon on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. There he will meet Amador Guzmán (Navarro), a Spanish nobleman serving a life sentence there. Amador reveals to her that he has a hidden treasure and before dying he gives her his fortune.
When Alejandro manages to escape in the 50’s, with that immense fortune he returns to San Jacinto where he discovers that Mariana married Gerardo and that he was left for dead. So he decides to execute a plan to do justice against those who betrayed him, especially Mariana who he believes is part of that conspiracy. Alejandro returns as the powerful Count Joaquín de Montenegro and this will be the beginning of a dangerous revenge against those responsible for his 17 years of unjust confinement.

The adaptation also has the special participation of Helena Rojo (El Privilegio de Amar, Amor Real), Omar Fierro (Señora Acero, Mi Fortuna es Amarte), Javier Díaz Dueñas (La Suerte de Loli, Monarca) and Manuel Navarro (La Reina del Sur 2, Bolivar).

Telemundo did not confirm the exact date of the premiere of “El Conde: Amor y Honor” but the company assured that it would be on the screens by 2023.
