The Necaxa defeated Querétaro this Friday 1-0 with a goal by Heriberto Jurado, at the beginning of a new era in Mexican soccer, with a speech aimed at condemn acts of violence.
In the first match of the 10th day of the Closing Tournament, after the duel Querétaro – Atlas was suspended last Saturday due to a violent fight between the fans that left a significant number of injured, good football stood out on the field with the stands without fans.
Jurado, 17 years old, accepted a ball in the area and with a hit with his left leg gave the victory to the locals, who were able to extend the advantage but found themselves facing Uruguayan Washington Aguerre, on a brilliant night.
Directed by Jaime Lozano, Necaxa was better in the first half hour of the gamewith dominance in the midfield and better opportunities, despite the fact that the Roosters had possession of the ball longer, 56-44.
The Uruguayan Fabricio Formiliano let Necaxa make it 2-0 and Ángel Sepúlveda was about to equalize, in two dangerous actions in the first half.
The two teams insisted on the second in which the most significant thing happened in the 63rd minute, when the players of both teams and the referee held hands and were silent for a minute, a ceremony that will be repeated in the matches for the rest of the weekend of week.
With the victory, Necaxa rose to eleventh place with three wins, two draws, five losses and 11 points, three more than Querétaro, fifteenth in the standings.
This Friday the champion Atlas will visit Juárez FC and Mazatlán will visit the Rayados de Monterrey and on Saturday América will go to the home of Chivas de Guadalajara, in the Mexican Soccer Classic, León will receive the Tigres UANL and Cruz Azul the Pumas UNAM.
Day 10 will conclude on Sunday with the Toluca-Pachuca, San Luis-Puebla and Santos Laguna-Tijuana matches.
