Passengers aboard a plane from Tampa bound for Atlanta They got a big scare after the ship began to expel fire from the side just as they landed.
According to statements from officials at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Spirit Airlines flight 383 had failures upon landing. The brakes on the landing gear overheated and caught fire. which caused the alarm among the passengers when they saw fire come out on the side of the plane.
Atlanta firefighters responded to the call for help and put out the fire, once the fire was controlled, the aircraft was towed to a gate where passengers safely disembarked and continued on their wayaccording to the Atlanta Airport.
Fortunately, no passengers were injured and the incident did not affect any other flights or airport operations.
The images captured by the same passengers were spread on social networks, they show the exact moment in which the tires are on fire and the black smoke coming out of the lower part of the aircraft.
Another video captured inside the plane shows the passengers rising from their seats to look out the windows as the crew urged them to remain seated.
“The plane was towed to the gate where the guests disembarked safely without injury. Thanks to the Atlanta first responders for immediately meeting the plane. The aircraft will be temporarily withdrawn from service for maintenance,” read a statement from the airline.
