The series follows the protagonist, Takemichi Hanagaki whose girlfriend was murdered by a gang of delinquents. A series of unfortunate events take Takemichi to the past where he tries to change the Toman gang from the inside. This season beholds the journey of Takemichi travelling in the past to save his girlfriend from getting murdered. When he returns to the present, he finds her alive. Season 2 is most likely to pick up from where season 1 ended. Season 2 will bring us back to the time where Takemichi is seemingly executed by Tetta Kisaki. But Kazutora saves him and treats the gunshot wound in his leg. These will be the closing moments before he returns to the past.
The major antagonist will be Taiju Shiba, the older brother of Hakkai Shiba who was seen in the season 1 finale. When Hakkai quits the Toman gang and joins Black Dragons, Takemichi suddenly realises what timeline he is in. He then realises Dragons are a threat no matter who leads them. Thus, Takemichi will be seen eliminating the threats and also saving others. We will also be introduced to a character named Shinichiro once again and we will learn about him through other characters.
Tokyo Revengers Season 1
Tokyo Revengers is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It was serialised in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in March 2017. Over 40 million copies were sold until September 2021. This manga also won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for the Shōnen category in 2020.
An anime television series adaptation was created by Liden Films which aired from April to September 2021. The series was directed by Koichi Hatsumi. Tokyo Revengers Season 1 was created out of exactly 73 chapters of the original manga which consisted of 24 episodes.
Later, a live-action film adaptation was released in Japan in July 2021.
