the mexican wrestler Gilberto ‘Lefty’ Ramirez celebrated in his beloved native Mazatlán having defeated the German Dominic Boesel last Saturday, May 14; As if he were the “King of Carnival”, the 30-year-old boxer was celebrated in his homeland by hundreds of fans who accompanied him on the streets.
Those who follow and admire him in the popular city belonging to the state of Sinaloa participated in a parade in honor of Lefty which began at Valentino’s and ended at the El Escudo sector.
Applause, congratulations and streamers characterized the entire tour; many dressed up as if it were the popular February celebration and others wore T-shirts with the 30-year-old boxer’s name on them.
For the population of Mazatlán represents a great pride that one of their own has gone to another country, in this case California in the United States, to beat a foreigner. This arouses the patriotic feeling of the Aztec soil.
